The BTL VANQUISH ME procedure disrupts fatty cells through the selective heating of adipose tissue. The process leads to fatty cell shrinkage and elimination.

GraceMed’s top priority is the safety and well-being of his patients. All of the treatments offered at GraceMed are vetted for their safety record and efficacy, including Vanquish. Since Vanquish is a unique treatment that harnesses radiofrequency energy to destroy unwanted fat, GraceMed has received questions about whether it is safe and if there are any side effects. He assures patients that it is completely safe and generally well tolerated, with few side effects. To quell any additional concerns, GraceMed can share the following information:

FDA-Approved

The Vanquish system first received FDA approval in 2013 for deep tissue heating, which plastic surgeons use for the reduction of unwanted fat. Vanquish received additional FDA approval in 2015 for circumferential reduction of the abdomen. Both approvals indicate the treatment delivers on its promises, and with minimal side effects. Studies have confirmed Vanquish’s safety and efficacy. As of lately, no serious side effects have been reported.

How Vanquish Works

Vanquish uses radiofrequency energy to target unwanted fat cells. It gently warms and kills the fat cells without damaging the surrounding tissue or overlying skin. In fact, the treatment handpiece does not make contact with the skin at all. Sensors examine the patient’s body fat and calibrate the amount of energy the machine will deliver. Over time, the body naturally processes and eliminates the destroyed fat cells, and the treated area looks slimmer. A series of about four treatment sessions are typically recommended for best results.

Possible side effects and complications

As is the case with most cosmetic treatments, there is a slight possibility of complications. However, they are rare and mild in nature. If the skin gets too moist, it can cause a small superficial burn or blister. To prevent this, a fan is directed at the treatment area to cool the skin. Also, small areas underneath the treated fat can become temporarily inflamed, swollen or tender. But again, this is rare.

In the large majority of cases, Vanquish is described as “painless” and “relaxing.” And, a treatment session only takes 30 minutes! The skin is usually pink and slightly warm after treatment, but the symptoms wear off after a few minutes to an hour.
